The first Diamond Capital Convention, organized by Almasi Capital & Advisory, brings together banks and financial markets around a call: to build trust between available capital and investment opportunities.
The financial market faces a major challenge: to connect available capital to companies that need financing to invest, grow and create jobs. This is one of the central topics of the first Diamond Capital Convention, which brought together governments, financial institutions, businesses, investors and young people. Despite its potential, the financial market remains difficult to access for many companies.
During this event under the patronage of the Prime Minister, the Managing Director of Almasi Capital & Advisory, Ingrid Obouh Fegue, recalled that the complexity of financial mechanisms, the lack of knowledge of the available instruments and the lack of confidence keep entrepreneurs and investors apart. As a result, capital exists, but viable companies are struggling to finance themselves.
At the opening, Finance Minister Louis Paul Motaze, speaking on behalf of the Prime Minister, called for deeper reforms. According to him, the CEMAC has a strong potential, with entrepreneurs, investment opportunities and local savings. But financing needs remain significant in areas such as infrastructure, industrialisation, energy transition, digital technology and the processing of raw materials. Bank credit, which is essential, is not enough to cover long-term needs: we need a deeper, more liquid and more transparent capital market.
The President of COSUMAF reaffirmed her commitment to stronger, more transparent and more credible markets, with reforms to reduce emission costs, strengthen financial education and modernize the regulatory framework.
